City of Stoke-on-Trent

Law Society Gazette - Thursday 13th January 2005

Stoke-on-Trent City Council intends to outsource more legal work to private practice and is undertaking a tender exercise to appoint a panel of law firms to service its future requirements on a call-off basis. First Law has been appointed to manage the tender.

Specialist legal advisers are sought in Housing, Consumer Protection, Corporate Resources, Office of the Council Manager, Property, Regeneration and Community, Housing Market Renewal, Social Services, Education and Lifelong Learning, Urban Environment and General Corporate.

Applicants may express interest in these appointments by listing relevant work examples under the above categories, accompanied by the name of a single client referee for each category with direct email, telephone, fax and postal contact details. First Law will approach your referees directly, to ask a series of pre-determined questions. Telephone interviews last ten minutes and are confidential. Referees should be the persons who instruct you for each category you apply for.

Please send responses to Anthony Armitage at First Law, 6-8 Bouverie Street, London EC4Y 8DD, by fax on 020 7353 8877 (no more than five pages of A4) or by email to aa@firstlaw.co.uk (maximum file size 250KB). The closing date is 4pm on Friday 28 January 2005. Full tender specifications will be issued to qualifying applicants in early February
